Dirt Jumper Quest

So far on the fork front looks like the best option is to acquire a Dirt Jumper 1 or 3 from Marzocchi. Bit heavy but one has to make do.

The main reason is it's cheaper then trying to upgrade the springs in the present z!. This is an issue because being soft I am already pretty much half way through the travel before I hit anything. And after some research I have learned my fork set up is way wrong. A stiffer fork is better as it leaves more travel to use when it is needed.

So far looking at two forks to meet the requirements on Pinkbike.

One the wheel front, just laced up the rim to a DMR Revolver hub. I went with the DMR simply because can get adapters to swap that would allow me to use a QR or the new 15mm axle forks. Now I just need to get a DMR in 36 Hole.

Rode the rocks above Fort Henry this evening. May be doing it tomorrow night as well.

Hunt For Cross

Yep, I'm on the hunt for a Cross bike. Have found a possible option but will wait to say more later.

Presently getting ready to do a front wheel build next week. Time to learn to do it myself. as the local shops take way to long to do it. Especially since I need a lighter wheelset for the Mistress. Especially since the Paradox has been shelved till next winter.

Presently riding lots and upgrading the Mistress as I can. The next big purchase will be a better fork, due to cost reasons it will be used. Looking at a Marzocchi Z1FR from 2005. Hopefully will get it done before mid May. But it requires me to offload some more stuff I don't need.

Raining

Nothing much other then playing dodge the car in Kingston. Trails are a bit muddy still as they just fully defrosted.

Another Week

Right now in the process of getting the funds together for the Paradox. Hopefully in on the 28th will be able to put a downpayment to get the frame ordered.

To muddy to really ride as the spring thaw has occurred. So rode some road ad stuff. Plus visited Joyride 150 a couple of times as well.

Tonight swapped over the brakes on the Mistress. Back to the Hope brakes for the rest of the year.

Well first off the Mistress received some new cranks to go with a new BB. Sadly the BB was not Hope but there is still hope that a Hope will appear on Ebay cheap enough.

This year will be doing some further work to Guinness. Looking to add more technical challenges. This is not to be a speed trail but a challenging technical trail.

The beginning of hauling in rocks.

Another day of leaves.

Managed to get some parts for the Mistress. New Syncros stem and Race Face external BB. Pic's will be posted later when I install the BB and DMR cranks in a couple of days at the shop back home.

Headed out to Joyride 150 in Markham today. It became an alternating type of ride- 20 minutes of Olympic hockey finals then 20 minute intermission riding till the final goal.

There is a whole pile of new features built by my buddy Paul. The master builder of dirt jumps and other fun riding stuff. Will post up pic's later when I get home.

Now just to wait for the snow to melt.
